About us
We are Shira Cohen and Eden Shmuel, survivors of the Nova party—the party that changed our lives forever.
We arrived, like many others, to dance, have fun, and enjoy, but sadly, we lost two friends—Livnat Levi and Hadar Hushan, of blessed memory.
Shira Cohen, 28 years old from Ramat Gan, is the CEO of a global tourism company and believes in building resilience through entrepreneurship.
Eden Shmuel, 32 years old from Rishon LeZion, is a lawyer, owner of two e-commerce businesses, and an entrepreneur by nature, believing that entrepreneurship as a way of life is a driving force for growth. We wholeheartedly believe that we survived Nova to continue shining and to do good in this world.
The “Beginning to Live Again” NGO was born out of the need to voice, act, and resolve the pain of the hundreds of victims of the Black Saturday on 10/7, who lost their way in life and abandoned their dreams.
We believe that healing comes through movement, action, and stepping out of one’s comfort zone with the support of a caring, professional framework.
We envision a world where every survivor of the Nova party becomes a beacon of hope and resilience. In our organization, we don’t just see people who have faced unimaginable challenges; we see entrepreneurs, dreamers, and future leaders. Our mission is to empower these survivors through entrepreneurship, giving, and personal and professional development, igniting their potential to rebuild lives full of purpose, achievement, and joy. Recovery Program
After the October tragedy, we chose to take active steps and adopted the approach of “creative thinking generates reality” through “active initiatives that create reality.” We embarked on a global journey to share our story, to commemorate the communities we lost, and to make an impact. Our recovery program assists survivors in returning to the path of life. With mentors, professionals, and trauma experts, we aim to help individuals achieve their personal and professional goals by providing them with unique tools and training. Together, we will build a future full of hope and joy.
